Mike Boon, CEO of Vulindlela, launched his first company, which later became Group
Africa,
in 1983. He developed an enterprise that at the
end of 17 years operated in 25 countries
with several
thousand employees. It set out to be highly efficient, effective, and non-
discriminatory with
its values determined by the people that
worked in the business.
This, at the height of apartheid!
|
Group Africa focused on experience-driven
communication of products (eg. Unilever) or messages
(eg. HIV/AIDS) to mass market and niche
consumers.
By the late 80's, due to the highly unusual company
culture, Mike
and his business were being visited by dignitaries and universities
- MBA, EDP and PhD students alike. It was the unique culture of the
enterprise that drew this attention: a culture of deep respect between people
of all cultures, religions, races, and gender, with incredibly high
productivity:
the basis of all Mike's work today. As CEO of Vulindlela, Mike is also a
transformation facilitator and pioneer adventurer!
